Financial Literacy Seminar

       COURSE DESCRIPTION    

MODULE #1

Financial Literacy: Money, Values, Budgeting Students will be able to articulate their goals, understanding their mindset around money (thoughts on spending money or earning it). Students will create and maintain a budget.

MODULE #2

Your Credit: Building, Repairing Protecting & Maintaining

Students will learn what is listed in a credit report, what is a credit score, who uses credit reports and scores and how to build, repair, protect and maintain their credit.

MODULE #3

Investing: Smart Money Management

Students will demonstrate best times to invest, knowing when to invest: After your budget is created, your credit report is in good order, emergency fund/3-6 months of expenses are saved, students will learn how to invest. Students will examine the “magic” of compounding. Students will explore the three Asset classes. Students will demonstrate Dollar-Cost Averaging and its benefits.
